Lying by Omission

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

By Our Anonymous Man on The Fence

There’s something to be said about liars; liars lie in so many ways and for so many reasons. Liars lurk in business, in marriages, in friendships, in life, to hurt; whether innocently, stupidly or maliciously. However, lying by omission is in a completely different league. This form of lying takes on a life of its own. Firstly, what is lying by omission?

One lies by omission by omitting an important fact, deliberately leaving another person with a misconception. Lying by omission includes failures to correct pre-existing misconceptions. (Wikipedia).

Mobile Madness

By Man On The Fence

I know he made a very recent appearance, but I felt so connected to his topic, that I couldn’t resist bringing him back.

Here he is again, Mr. Anonymous.

The life of a single father (or mother) is a complex one. It’s a whole different beast altogether. I take pride in doing my very best to be an attentive and hands-on parent during the time spent with my precious children. I also try to be respectful at all times about the intrusion of mobile devices and computers in my life. Allow me to start by saying that this has become an issue for both sexes. Parents must stand united in how they deal with what has become “mobile madness” or this invasion of electronics into our private lives. Things have really gotten out of hand.

The “Joys” Of Divorce – By Man On The Fence

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Our anonymous Man On The Fence has chosen his topic, and is making his second guest appearance today.

I read his Blog post while waiting in line to pay yesterday at Walmart. I bawled my eyes out.

Here he is, our very own Guest Blogger, Man On The Fence…

=============================================

As a single dad who patronized his wife, loved her, cared for her and protected her from the daily insanity of life’s craziness, I thought the joys of divorce would be a great way to connect those women, who truly don’t accept, appreciate and recognize how blessed they  are.

Help, I’m Totally Frazzled!

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

I would like today’s Blog to address a comment a friend of mine made to me the other day. It went something like this:

“Erica, I have to tell you, I’m losing my patience.  I’m yelling at my kids a lot lately.  I can’t remember the last time I sat on the floor with them to do a puzzle. I’m short tempered with my husband. I’m pulled in a million different directions, and I’m completely frazzled!”

Can any of you relate? I gotta admit, I can completely relate to this on most days.

As a stay-at-home mom, as a working mom, as a single mom, or as a busy career woman, we are under tremendous strains. Our entire day is planned, from the moment the alarm goes off, to the time we plop into bed at night. We run from thing to thing, from this to that. In fact, I sometimes feel like Thing One and Thing Two from The Cat in the Hat. Look at these two creatures! They look like someone pressed the fast-forward button on them!
