Wordless Wednesday: A Dream Meeting With Arianna Huffington

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012

Yes, today I got to meet and interview someone on my short list of “People I’d Like To Have Dinner With” Arianna Huffington, founder of The Huffington Post (others on my list include… Oprah Winfrey, Martha StewartMaya Angelou, Phil Knight, Richard Branson, Anthony Robbins, BIll Gates, Steven Spielberg, Madonna). As a Huffington Post contributor and an entrepreneur myself since the age of 24, it never grows tired when I have the opportunity to meet incredible visionaries and pioneers who have mastered their craft. It’s what turns me on. I’m still juiced.

I give you, the brains behind The Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington, et moi a Montreal. ;)

23 Secrets To Improve Your Life

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

I don’t even know where to begin. I am still on a high after a magnificent weekend with my mom in Toronto attending Oprah’s Lifeclass Tour. So many of you have tweeted me and Facebooked me asking for all the juicy details. So today will be a mixed bowl of those details, life lessons, and what I learned. Hold on tight, and come along with me on a ride of fun and education…

It all started Sunday. My husband was leaving on a business trip, and I was leaving for Toronto. We kissed our two boys goodbye, and headed to the airport for our respective flights. Walking in, I had to laugh. My mom and I showed up at the airport in the exact same outfit, completely unplanned. Quite typical of us. We were excited, and off on our first mother-daughter trip in almost a decade!

Tuesday’s Tech Tidbits

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

After spending the past two days with my mom attending the Oprah Lifeclass Tour (which I will tell you all about tomorrow), this really made us chuckle at the airport today. It’s nothing about being on the fence, and perhaps it’s less than inspirational, but laughter is the best medicine, and I think somehow, in this tech age we live in, we can all relate. ;)

What do you think?

The ‘Secret Sauce’ To Becoming a Woman of Action – With Sheri Salata

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

My hubby was on “Daddy duty” this past Sunday during our yearly women’s luncheon for Breast Cancer Research: “Women of Action, Pink Lady Fund.” Each year, three outstanding women in our community are honored for their accomplishments and tireless dedication to their work and community, and for being “a woman of action.” Six hundred women strong attend. The highlight of the event, is always the guest speaker. The event is only a few years old, but over the past few years, we have seen the likes of Marianne Pearl (who was portrayed by Angelina Jolie in the movie A Mighty Heart), Margaret Trudeau (former wife of our former Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau, who suffered with mental illness), and Jeannette Walls (author of the best-selling book, The Glass Castle).

This year, we did things a little differently. We didn’t bring in a woman who had been beaten, captured, or suffered from mental illness. We simply brought in a powerhouse with a great story. No, a lovely woman, with a great story. I had the pleasure of meeting Sheri Salata, President of Harpo Studios and The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) for the second time in only a month. And 600 women in my community also had the pleasure of listening to a true woman of action.

Share An Inspirational Message Via Kleenex.com

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

If you’re a new reader, I announced last month, that I am a Brand Ambassador for Kleenex.

When I got the opportunity to marry two things that I love, Kleenex and Oprah, I was thrilled. In honor of Kleenex‘s softest and newest tissues yet Kleenex Cool Touch, Kleenex kicked off their Softness Worth Sharing Movement at The Oprah Winfrey, O You! Conference in Atlanta, last month. As an inspirational Top 10 Brand, the strategic move to launch Kleenex’s softest tissue ever, Kleenex Cool Touch, at an inspirational conference, using me, an inspirational blogger as the ambassador, proved to be fantastic.

So now, with cold and flu season upon us, I definitely have a new favorite thing! New Kleenex Cool Touch tissues are the ONLY tissues that release a cool sensation to soothe a sore nose when you’re sick. My husband had a very bad cold last week, and he couldn’t believe what a difference it made! The unscented tissues are enriched with cooling moisturizers and aloe, and actually release a cool sensation on contact. Your own body heat activates this special ingredient in the tissue which creates the cooling sensation. It’s really cool – you must try it!

A Weekend With Oprah – Living My Best Life

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

I am still on a high from my weekend in Atlanta. It was honestly, game changing.

For the new readers, to keep you up to speed, I attended the O You! Oprah Magazine Conference this past weekend, as a Brand Ambassador for Kleenex. The speaker’s lineup was out of this world…   Gayle King, Lisa Ling, Suze Orman, Nate Berkus, Dr. Oz, Peter Walsh, Martha Beck, Bob Greene, Donna Brazile, Val Monroe, Adam Glassman, and Miss Oprah Winfrey herself.

I was in Atlanta to attend the O You! Conference, learn, enjoy, and work the booth with my Kleenex peeps. As an inspirational Top 10 Brand, the strategic move to launch their softest tissue ever, Kleenex Cool Touch, at an inspirational conference, using me, an inspirational blogger as the ambassador, proved to be fantastic. In case you haven’t seen it yet, Kleenex Cool Touch actually uses your own body heat to release a cooling sensation to a relieve a sore nose. It contains moisturizers and aloe, and is so soothing if you’re sick… OR NOT! Or if you have hot flashes, as we learned in the booth— 5,000 hormonal women, walking by our booth, cooling their hot faces with Kleenex, going crazy for COLD tissues! Not sure Kleenex realized ALL the benefits when they made the first-ever cool and soothing tissue. ;)
