Hello! I’m back from Hiatus. Let’s Talk BlogHer!

Saturday, August 4th, 2012

I’m back! And I’ve missed you ladies like crazy! I hope that during the past three weeks, you have kept yourself busy and enjoyed the warm weather a little. Our summer is flying by too quickly, the fact that we’re already into August, makes me weepy.

During my three-week blogging break, I had a chance to relax, unWINE unwind and rest my brain, so that I can continue to add value to the blogging community. It is no easy feat to manage an engaged audience as smart as YOU, and continuously provide fresh captivating content. In order to do so, this mama needs to engage in stimulating activities, such as reading Fifty Shades Of Grey War and Peace.

So… I relaxed by the lake.

Today Is National Entrepreneurship Day – Watch These!

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

Today is one of my favorite days of the year. If you remember back in April, I made the announcement that I was the 2011 Spokesperson forNational Entrepreneurship Day. Well, today is National Entrepreneurship Day!

NED’s primary goal is to increase awareness about entrepreneurship and promote it among young people, and in the long term, increase the number of entrepreneurs. After all, our children represent the leaders of tomorrow, and there just might be the next Steve Jobs, Phil Knight, or Martha Stewart walking among us. It’s our duty to inspire our youth to not only become entrepreneurs, but to also THINK like an entrepreneur. And that means teaching them skills such as– how to become proactive, how to become a self starter, how to be a leader in their surroundings, how to take matters into their own hands to create change, and to have a desire to innovate.

My love of entrepreneurship has been 12 years and counting, and my entrepreneurial journey has been both thrilling and rewarding. Second to my family, it is what fuels me on a daily basis.

Being A MOMpreneur Is Big Business

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

So it’s 2011. Maybe your kids are all in school now, and maybe you’ve decided that this is the year you’re going to get creative – in every sense of the word. Maybe you’ve decided that you’re going to get off the fence and contribute to society. That you’re going to contribute to your household income. That you’re going to leave your high stress job in search of flexibility and balance. Maybe you need to work for financial reasons, maybe you don’t. But one thing is for certain… MomPreneurship is big business.

What is a mompreneur you may ask? (more…)

The Bucket List – Updated

Monday, December 20th, 2010

I think you readers will be happy to know that I have since recovered from last week’s nervous breakdown. :) Yes, I’m back… it’s me, Erica the overall normal individual, flawed, but still together. It’s amazing what a little support does. You women gave me perspective, a chance to take a breath and realize, we all lose it, and that’s okay. It’s how quickly we bounce back that’s the key.

One of my most popular Blog posts and concepts that really took off over the past year, has been my Bucket List Blog.  On February 19th, 2010 I urged you to make a list of your dreams– or simply a list of 25 things you want to do before you “kick the bucket.” The concept pushed many, including Brooke Burke to create her Bucket List which she spoke of on The Oprah Show, on her Blog, and in her upcoming book, The Naked Mom. Because of the power of the Bucket List, and with the approach of 2011, instead of making New Year’s resolutions this year, I wanted to encourage all my readers who haven’t yet done so to make their Bucket List.  I’ve re-posted mine below, added a few updates in RED (’cause it’s almost been a year), and then, I’d love to see yours.
