It’s Almost 2010 – What’s Your Game Plan?

Monday, December 14th, 2009

It’s that time of year again! How quickly it came. You know, the time of year when people start thinking about making resolutions, life improvements, and figuring out their game plan for next year.

Often people make resolutions to head back to the gym. I love gyms in January! They’re completely packed. You can’t get a bloody machine if you tried. All the resolutioners are pounding the pavement… hard… literally… for like five minutes. Then, by January 20th, the crowds calm down to normal levels and those people return back to their old habits.

Some people vow to spend more quality time with family members. Others vow to see their friends more often. Or to quit smoking. Or to be kinder or more patient. Or to save more money.

Vodka Anyone?

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

I just wanted to fill you in on our eventful afternoon yesterday. My pediatrician told us last year that at six years old, there is finally a test that is performed at the Children’s Hospital that can confirm asthma. Because our six-year-old had what we suspected was “viral induced asthma,” and he never huffed nor wheezed while running or during physical activity, we weren’t so convinced he actually had asthma, per se. So, off we went yesterday afternoon for a test which we were told was a breeze. He just had to blow a few times into a “thing.”

We arrived and everyone was friendly of course. Everyone at these kid’s hospitals are so nice. My son was just so thrilled not to be in school, that sitting in a hospital didn’t phase him in the least. Our name was called and we went into this room with a little chamber that resembled an airplane cockpit. So, my son tried breathing in and out of this machine, but he couldn’t get it. He couldn’t keep his lips closed, and he was laughing, and the nose-plugs they gave him were bothering him, etc…

Because they couldn’t get a reading from the “cockpit,” he had to move to another machine and start the real test. That’s when my blood pressure started to rise.

How Often Do YOU Have Sex?

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Well ladies, I feel like we haven’t covered sex in a while, so we’re well overdue!

Last night after proudly watching my son’s hockey practice, I went to dinner with my baby group girlfriends. It’s very nice; the same group of 8 girls I started a baby group with six years ago, I still dine with on a monthly basis. I always come home with a few good laughs for my hubby. Really.

So, after first exhausting H1N1 talk, we moved onto sex talk. Hmmm. No names of course, but let’s see what a group of 8 girls in their thirties and forties have to say about how often they’re “doin’ it.” Now let’s keep in mind, these are MARRIED women. I imagine if these thirty and forty year olds were single, it would be lot more frequent.
