#DoveIsDifferent

Monday, April 22nd, 2013

If you recall, as a Dove® Ambassador, I traveled with them on a Canyon Ranch, Arizona retreat last year. It was truly game changing. There I found myself, there I learned how to meditate (which I still do regularly), and there I learned how to truly care for myself.

A new woman on a Dove retreat

It was a partnership I was thrilled to announce. At any given moment, I only work with a few select brands whose message I truly believe in, and can authentically represent. Dove® is inspiring women everywhere, and my mission is to do the same. So I’m excited today to share with you again today, what this incredible brand is up. Firstly, I don’t know if you have seen Dove’s latest video called Beauty Sketches, but I encourage you to watch it. It’s brilliant.

Leaning In

Hello and Happy Hump Day!

Chances are, if you are a working woman, or have even turned on the news in the past few days, you’ve probably come across Sheryl Sandberg, COO and second in command at Facebook. She recently wrote a book called Lean In, and there has been a lot of controversy around her book.

Yesterday, when Arianna Huffington asked me to contribute my voice to the Huffington Post Women’s community, I was happy to oblige. I have a STRONG opinion in this arena. Already a HuffPo contributor, this was a chance for me to either join the haters and skeptics, or Lean In, and agree with Sheryl Sandberg.

Happy Everything…

Friday, December 21st, 2012

Well my lovely ladies, it’s that time of year again- Christmas, holiday season, Nat King Cole and reindeers. It’s also the time where I close up the blogging shop for two weeks. Yup, I do. I rest my kepi (that’s Hebrew for head), and come back rejuiced with fresh content in January.

This week, a lot was put into perspective about life. I spent the week bringing my old babysitter clothing for her and her family after her ENTIRE apartment burnt down due to an accidental fire. Thankfully, her whole family survived- they were in the apartment during the fire. We also witnessed the horrific devatstation in Newtown– completely unphathomable and tragic beyond anyone’s comprehension. So, what I learned this week, is that we all hold our own lives in the palm of our hands – precious and fragile. When we come to realize this, I mean REALLY realize this, we’ll go about things differently. We’ll approach life with gratitute, appreciation, but we’ll also take to life with extreme gusto, and mad passion. We won’t wait to do the things we love. When we realize that ANYTHING can be taken away in an instant, we’ll make every moment count. In 2013, I have one goal – to make every moment count.

So, I’ll be short, and show you in pictures, what I know as truth.

Do You Have A Social Media Addiction?

Thursday, December 6th, 2012

OMG, NOW THIS MAY BE A SLIGHT OVEREXAGGERATION, BUT IS THIS YOU? Is your cell phone always glued to you? Do you constantly check Twitter and Facebook on your free time… like when you’re family is home at night and instead of playing with your kids or bonding with your partner, you’re futsing around on BBM (Blackberry Messenger), or iMessage, or other social media sites? Or better, do you bring your smartphone into the bathroom? Is your Facebook account or emails the first thing you check when you wake up? Are you exhausted from staying up too late reading about all of your “friends’ ” status updates, whereabouts and pictures? Has your family asked you if you love your computer more than you love them?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, it’s time to admit, you may be a social media addict. And you don’t want to overdose, trust me. A recent German study released these findings: “Social media is more addictive than cigarettes or alcohol.” Scary stuff.
