Friday Updates

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Hi Ladies,

Happy Friday! For today’s Blog, I wanted to keep you updated on a few nice things that have happened this week. Yesterday was a big day. I finally finished the book! I was sitting at Second Cup cafe, I clicked “save,” closed the file, and actually got teary eyed when it was all done. It felt like giving birth all over again. That sense of accomplishment you feel when it’s all over. All 11 chapters, with their 9 key points per chapter (hence 99 points). I still have the book’s introduction to write, and of course, my thank you page. It feels surreal. I guess timing is everything in life, and I just couldn’t pass up this incredible opportunity. It’s been full days, not leaving the house (or cafe), no gym, and I’ve been working my ass off. But it feels great, and I’m not complaining.

I also wanted to share with you that I have been officially chosen by ABC’s The View (Yes as in Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, Whoopi Golderg and Sherri Shepherd) to be an Ambassador for the show, to represent the Mom community. I was honored that they believed in me and chose me, considering my voice is very new to the mom community. It’s exciting. You girls know how I love all things women and talk related. It’s gonna be fun. I’ll keep you posted along the way on how it goes. So if you have any suggestions for guests you’d love to see on the show, come to MOI! Ha ha. For real!

Forgiveness and Why You Shouldn’t Hold A Grudge

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

“What they did was unforgivable”….. “They have to apologize first” ….. “They ruined my life”……

Do any of these statements sound familiar as words you’ve once uttered?   My blog today is about the power of forgiveness, a force so strong that it will release the negative energy that weighs you down and leave you feeling lighter and freer.  Forgiveness is one of the best gifts that you can give yourself and I am going to explain to you why.

Firstly, I would like to say that this Blog post came to be after receiving numerous emails asking me to cover forgiveness and grudge holding. Can we forgive someone who did something so terrible to us, and should we then continue to hold a grudge?   My degree is in psychology, but I am no psychologist,  so I interviewed a professional to help deliver the proper message to you ladies.
