Making Your Bed

I’m sure you have heard the expression, “You made your bed, now you have to lie in it.” I have thought about this for a long time. I have come to realize that “making your bed” is a representation of yourself. The people who decided to “Occupy Wall Street” in 2011, made their beds together, on the ground, in solidarity for a cause. This act represented all of them. They say our sleep position represents our personality. But is where we sleep and how we prepare our beds, really a representation of ourselves? Let’s think about this for a moment.

Who’s Da Boss?

Ok, so it’s November.

We all know what’s going to happen in the next little while. It’s going to get darker earlier. There will be less daylight hours. It will get colder. Cold enough to hopefully have snow for Christmas. People are going to stay indoors more. This is also the beginning of flu season, so we are advised to get the flu shot. Our skin will become drier as the humidity wears off. The seasonal birds will be flying south and so will the snowbirds.

Geez, this sounds awful.

Actually, not at all! It’s all about perspective and taking control of your time. For me, I love this time of year. There are many reasons for this. Primarily, I’m happy for the humidity to go away as my curly hair will be tamed into straighter hair. I know that seems a bit trite, but I fight with the humidity for months. Ya, I don’t like having dry skin, but I love having dryer hair. Gone are the pollens and the bees. I will no longer struggle with seasonal allergies. Bring on the frost baby!

Why Quitting Isn’t An Option

I have been titled, a Teacher turned Writer. In actuality, I would call myself a writer, who became a teacher, then turned into a dream-come-true writer. I have been writing since I was fourteen. I wrote in a diary which turned into a journal as I got older. To date I have written over 75 journals which now are considered the history books of my family and life. Writing just happens to me. I have always dreamed of being an Author. When I was a little girl, I imagined myself sitting in front of children reading “my book.” When I had children of my own, I would pretend that the books I was reading were those I had written. I know this might sound silly, but it was my dream of all dreams.

It’s time to spring clean your time, energy & mindset!
