I’ve had the honor and pleasure of meeting with Kristen on more than one occasion. She is as real as people get and truly cares and can relate unequivocally to her fans and folks in general.

I don’t know if KJo has fully realized the impact she has made on people’s lives. It’s more than a story, more than a book of an addict’s memoir. Kristen has touched the very core of my soul and what it means to be “human” again and that it’s okay to make mistakes. It’s okay to admit what is still taboo in society to say “I have a problem.”

I’ve read GUTS several times, not to keep me grounded,not to remind me that I’m not alone….GUTS represents to me, the belief that it’s okay!! I’m going to be just fine! One day at a time with the ups and downs, good and bad..I can get through it..

I’m still here and I’m still me, just a better version and I love myself! Thanks KJo for being you!!!

Thank you so much for your comment. I hope you give GUTS a try, I’d love to know your thoughts.
Something you said really resonated with me: “I don’t count on tomorrow, and I do all that I can, just for today.” Erica kept wanting to know what my life would be like in 5 years, or what my hopes are for the future.
I just kept saying “I don’t know. I’m happy today, that’s more than I ever dreamt possible”

And I think it’s difficult for non-addicts to get…people in recovery are just happy to be alive, that day. That’s enough.

Anyway, thank you for your comment. And thank you Erica, for helping to shed light on our nation’s big secret.
