I’m sitting in the quiet room at the Polar Bear Spa in the Laurentians, where we are vacationing. I am currently alone. I just had a massage. And as I write this blog post on my Ipad, this is my view.

I can’t believe it’s the end of 2011. It seems like life is just whizzing by. I quote Ferris Bueller when I say, “Life moves pretty fast. You don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” But it’s true. In sitting here feeling introspective, I realize that life does move pretty quickly. If we don’t enjoy the moments, or have a little FUN every now and then, well, living becomes just existing, just functioning, and not truly living.

I stated in my last blog post, I hadn’t yet made my New Year’s resolutions. But I know now as I sit here, that my goal for 2012 is simple- to have more FUN. Be less serious. Enjoy the moments more. Not sweat the small stuff so much. In the words of Ferris – not miss life.

I know it’s easier said than done. Life sometimes hands us a big bowl of lemons. But in making our lemonade from those sour lemons, fun is truly something to strive for. I dare you to have more fun.

So yes, my resolution for 2012 is to really just, simply put, have more fun. Stop taking life so seriously. Live more in the moment. Show more gratitude and appreciation. I am driven to a fault, and sometimes, I miss the magic. I miss the joy. I don’t want to miss the magic in 2012.

Like this moment from this week.

So, as we ring in a New Year, pause and take a moment to think- what is my ONE GOAL for 2012? Instead of getting overwhelmed with all you hope to accomplish in 2012, I urge you perhaps to just pick one, and stick to it.

A word or two about sticking to your goal, and getting off the fence in life, “To achieve greatness, start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.” – Arthur Ashe

Cheers to a New Year m’ladies! Ka-Ching! Be safe.

I’d love to know, what is your ONE GOAL for 2012.
