I must be subconsciously thinking about my mortality this week, because Wednesday’s Blog was about aging, and now I’ve created my Bucket List. I watched the movie “The Bucket List” last night, and cried for two straight hours. What a fabulous movie. But my bucket list, (everything I want to do before I “kick the bucket”) is really a Hodge Podge of the realistic, the possible and the improbable. I wanted to share mine and encourage you to make your own. Maybe it will get you off the fence about something you’ve been sitting on for way too long. Call it a bucket list, but really, all it is, is the 25 Things I want to do before I die. And I ain’t on the fence about any of ‘em.
Here they are, in no particular order (ok maybe Oprah and Ellen are at the top for a reason)…
- Sit On Oprah’s couch with the Big O. (I would either cry, or die of a heart attack).
- Dance with Oprah in one of her live shows where she has like, Stevie Wonder on the Show and we can dance together to Do I Do. “Yes I got some candy kisses, for your lips…”
- Sit on Ellen’s chair
- Dance with Ellen – To Lady Gaga, Bad Romance or maybe Parliament’s Flashlight
- Organize a private Stevie Wonder concert and invite all my friends and family. I saw him 3 times in one year, and even went to Boston for the night to sit front row at Stevie’s concert. I LOVE his music.
- Sail around the world, except that I get sea sick, so I don’t know. Something around the world. I love to travel.
- Lay in bed for 24 hours and have lots of sex, just like my hubby and I did when we were dating and backpacking through Europe at 20.
- Which leads me to finding the courage to either tie my tubes or get an IUD. I know this is a strange thing on a bucket list, but it’s true.
- Go back to the Ryder Cup with my hubby. We went to England to see the Ryder Cup in 2001, but would love to go back. We both love to golf.
- Fly in a hot air balloon, even though I hate flying, and heights.
- Have a threesome. Just kidding. I have no interest but my husband sure does!
- Swim with the sharks. Not in a Luca Brasi kind of way. Really, be one with the sharks and be totally at peace with it. Really it’s about facing my biggest fears, and having no fear at all.
- Spend my summers in the South of France, splashing on the beach with the kids, eating fattening food and sipping great wines. Then hot sex at night of course.
- Go back to Israel. I haven’t been since I’m 15. That’s 20 years!
- Get a hole in one on the golf course. If I do, I’ll give up the sport that I’ve been struggling to master since I’m 18.
- Learn more patience. I need to go find me some.
- Host my own talk show with a panel of women, and chit chat with some of the brightest and most interesting women of today. Madonna would be my first invited guest. Would love Hillary Clinton too. I have always wondered a lot about Hillary. Don’t know why.
- Have Wolfgang Puck over to my home, and have him cook up a delicious meal for my friends and family. Great food, great music in the background, great company, and just a jolly ol’ good time.
- Have my new book make it on the New York Times Best-seller’s list. Geez Louise!
- Have Oprah and Ellen as Guest Bloggers on my Blog. I would like Oprah to write about how amidst all her success, she never married nor had kids and does she have any regrets about anything. And for Ellen, have her Guest Blog about finally getting off the fence, announcing she was gay, and going from rising star, to fallen to star, to rising star again.
- Go to the season finale of American Idol.
- Go to Kenya on an African Safari with the kids.
- Take a homemaking or cooking course with Martha Stewart. I’m very undomesticated.
- Live to have my grandchildren sleep over on Friday nights.
- Live till I’m 92 and then die in my sleep, blessed without too much illness or hardship for those I love.
That’s it folks!

I am impressed, I must say. Really seldom do I come across a blog that’s both educational and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. Your post is outstanding; the issue is something that not many people are speaking intelligently about. I am really happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to it.

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.
This has definitely sparked up an idea in my mind. This can be a amazing website article.
woot, thank you! I’ve finally came across a website where the owner knows what they’re talking about. You know how many results are in Google when I check.. too many! It’s so annoying having to go from page after page after page, wasting my day away with tons of owners just copying eachother’s articles… ugh. Anyway, thankyou for the information anyway, much appreciated.
Hi! Is it alright that I go a bit off subject? I’m making an attempt to see your post on my apple ipad but it doesn’t display correctly, do you have any recommendations? Thanks a lot. Regards, Bernardine.

I have been using thatsite for about a month. And I do appreciate nice celebrity photos.
What a breathtaking blog. I squander hours on the internet analysis blogs, almost tons of out of the ordinary subjects. I like first award reputationto whoever created your website and secondly to you for writing what i can simply illustrate as an significantpost. I honestly think there is a skill to writing articles that simply a few posses and frankly you obtain it. The mixture of informative and characteristic content is beyond doubt extremely uncommon with the hefty amount of blogs on the internet.

Can we make a pact that when we’re ninety and still haven’t danced with Oprah or Ellen we can at least just dance with each other? At least we’ll be dancing with people who have the same goals in life! So there’s that.
[...] Every day, I have two kids’ lunches to prepare: A main meal, 3 snacks, water and juice (I only give juice to my older one). I have noticed a steady decline lately in the quality of snacks in their lunches (obviously my fault, despite being a very healthy household), and it’s driving me bananas! My 3 year old loves foods like salmon, quiche and all things healthy. He’s quite a pleasure to feed. My big son is a little “trickier,” shall we say. Mealtime has been a huge problem for us, actually. If I’m serving salmon to the family, and my 7 year old refuses to eat it, and therefore I’m making him a grilled cheese, all of a sudden, my 3 year old hates salmon. And then I’m screwed! All healthy goes out the window. And lord knows, I ain’t no Martha Stewart. [...]

Great list! I love to travel too and sailing around the world is definitely on my list! Although I’m a little scared of pirates and sailing alone (just my hubby and I) so maybe we’ll do a guided tour. I also want to travel extensively in Bora Bora, Thailand and France, Italy & Greece.
Excellent list! Come to think of it…I wouldn’t mind dancing to Gaga with Ellen either

First. I adore your blog and I hope that on one day my blog will become as good as yours. I watched with my man also the bucket list and every day we are working on it. So it became a really dynamic list with a lot of fun. I don’t know or i have the guts to put it on my blog
One thing we are living on a sailing boat (when you’re talking about changing…that’s a change) and we’re traveling when we made some money…. The nice thing of living on a boat is: When you don’t like your neighbours anymore, you just go.

Has anyone started making their Bucket List? if so, please post here!!
Go hot air ballooning now! I did it a few years ago in Colorado over Pikes Peak and it was unreal. I am also not a fan of heights but you will be suprised at how smooth and relaxing it is.
I love this idea. Now I’m going to make mine!
This is a great list. I have a feeling you will achieve many things on this list.
This is a focal topic for me, too. I just did an interview about that very thing this week. It will be posted on my friend Melody’s blog called Six Feet Over.
I, too, want to ride in a hot air balloon…that’s one of my most favorite things on my list.
Last year my husband gave me 48 hours to write my bucket list of 100 things that i want to do before I” kick the bucket” After 2 days of complaining i learnt alot about myself and about him. My true fears and desires were shared with my hubby over a romantic dinner and a lot of wine. Truly a highlite of my summer. We probably wont get to do most of them but it was great hearing how different we are but yet how we share the same dreams too. We promised not to judge or to comment further on any of the points made. After 15 years of marriage this was a great way to reconnect our lives.
Lots of sex in that list. Unsatisfied? Missing something? Or just want more of a good thing? (p.s. no 3-some? thought you would be more open minded)
Fabulous!
